    An Overland Flood Watch has been issued by Manitoba's Hydrologic Forecast Centre

    From September 6 to 8, a system may bring 50 to 70 mm of precipitation to areas already impacted by significant rainfall. Water levels may increase along the Swan River, Qu'appelle River, Assiniboine River, Shell River, and in the Parkland Region. Heavy rainfall over a short period may lead to high surface runoff and overland flooding. Up-to-date information is available at https://manitoba.ca/floodinfo/ and www.manitoba511.ca

    • Western Manitoba, including The Pas, Swan River, Dauphin, Neepawa, Brandon, and Virden.
    • If you are in the affected area, be mindful of local waterways. Do not attempt to cross fast flowing waters or waters of unknown depth. Avoid flooded areas. Follow all directions by local authorities. Listen for updates. Take all necessary precautions to stay safe.

    Yellow watch - severe thunderstorm - in effect Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain. The risk of severe weather will diminish late this evening. ### Driving conditions may be difficult. Local utility outages are possible. Damage to roofs, fences, branches or soft shelters is possible. Heavy rain can cause flash flooding and significant reductions to visibility. Severe thunderstorm watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the development of thunderstorms capable of producing damaging hail, wind or rain.
