Major winter storm comes to an end.

What: Total snowfall accumulations of 20 to 30 cm. Near zero visibility in heavy snow and blowing snow. Northerly wind gusts of 70 to 80 km/h.

When: Continuing this evening and ending overnight.

Additional information: Additional snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm are expected before snow slowly tapers off early this morning. Periods of light snow and local blowing snow may continue into this morning or early this afternoon.

Roads and walkways will likely be very difficult to navigate. Travel will likely be hazardous. Road closures are possible. Prolonged utility outages are likely.
