In March, flooding continues, river runoff increases significantly, ice breaks up, and ice jams form in some places. Water levels continue to rise, flooding river floodplains and low-lying areas.Ice movements will continue in Gauja and Daugava rivers and its tributaries. In the coming days, larger areas will be inundated within river basins. BE AWARE of the potentially flood-prone areas! The environment is already overly humid, water is accumulating in the fields and in the lower depressions, low-lying areas on the banks of water bodies are flooded.
