Moderate flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Pearl River near Bogalusa. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 20.0 feet, Woodlands and crop acreage along the river will be flooded. The Bogue Chitto Wildlife Management area will be inundated with water in recreational camps and over access roads. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:15 PM CDT Friday the stage was 18.4 feet. - Bankfull stage is 15.0 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 7:15 PM CDT Friday was 18.4 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 20.0 feet Tuesday morning. - Flood stage is 18.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 20.0 feet on 02/14/2021. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

deaths occur in vehicles.
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars
through flooded areas.

Southeastern Washington Parish in southeastern Louisiana... Hancock County in southern Mississippi... Southern Pearl River County in southern Mississippi... * Until 115 AM CDT. * At 1022 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Bogalusa, Picayune, Diamondhead, Sun, Mcneil, Stennis Space Center, Crossroads, Bush and Kiln. Due to already very saturated grounds and high rivers, any additional rainfall will quickly turn to run off and lead to flash flooding.
