Flood Watch for Wallam and Mungallala Creeks

    开始于: 2026-02-12, 13:21
    到: 2026-02-13, 19:21

MINOR TO MODERATE FLOODING POSSIBLE FROM FRIDAY, WITH A RISK OF ISOLATED MAJOR FLOODING A trough moving east over southern and central Queensland will linger for the remainder of the week, drawing deep tropical moisture more broadly across the state and enhancing shower and storm activity over multiple days. Moderate to heavy falls are likely across the Flood Watch area from later Thursday, with a risk of locally intense falls. Catchments are relatively dry within the Flood Watch area which may initially slow the response to rainfall, however river level rises and areas of flooding are likely across the Flood Watch area. Minor to moderate flooding is possible from Friday and over the weekend, with rapid river level rises and isolated major flooding a possibility in areas that receive the heaviest rainfall. At this stage, smaller catchments in South East Queensland are most at risk of significant flooding. Heavy to locally intense rainfall may cause significant flash flooding, including over densely populated areas within the Flood Watch. There remains significant uncertainty in the location and timing of the heaviest falls, particularly over the weekend. The situation will be monitored closely and Flood Warnings issued as required.
