Very strong rip currents are likely along some beaches, especially exposed south to southwest facing beaches. * WHERE...San Luis Obispo County Beaches, Santa Barbara County Central Coast Beaches, Santa Barbara County Southwestern Coast, Santa Barbara County Southeastern Coast, and Lake Casitas. * WHEN...Through Saturday afternoon. * IMPACTS...There is an increased risk of ocean drowning. Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Waves can wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats nearshore. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...There is an increased risk of ocean drowning due to hazardous rip currents.     * WHAT...For the High Surf Advisory, large breaking waves of 4 to 8 feet with dangerous rip currents, highest across south to southwest facing beaches exposed to southerly swells. Very strong rip currents are occuring along some beaches, especially exposed south to southwest facing beaches. For the Coastal Flood Advisory, minor coastal flooding expected at the times of highest tide. * WHERE...Catalina and Santa Barbara Islands, Ventura County Beaches, Malibu Coast, and Los Angeles County Beaches. * WHEN...For the Coastal Flood Advisory, until 3 AM PDT Saturday. For the High Surf Advisory, until 5 PM PDT Saturday. * IMPACTS...Flooding of sea water is likely around the time of high tide, over low-lying coastal areas such as parking lots, beaches, and walkways. Significant damage to roads or structures is NOT expected. There is an increased risk of ocean drowning. Rip currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Large breaking waves can cause injury, wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats near shore. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...High tides of 6.2 to near 7.0 feet will occur in the evening hours through Friday night, peaking tonight through Thursday night. In conjunction with the highest expected surf from Tropical Cyclone Genevieve southerly swell, the best potential for minor coastal flooding impacts is expected Wednesday and Thursday evening.
