Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. Additionally, some tree damage is possible due to the very saturated soils. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - A stalled front and a very moist airmass over eastern North Carolina will continue to support periods of heavy rain and thunderstorms with excessive rainfall rates. * WHAT...Dangerous rip currents. * WHERE...Northern Outer Banks beaches. * WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT this evening. * IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The most likely time for strong rip currents to occur is a couple hours either side of low tide, which will occur around 11 PM Friday.
