...Elevated Fire Concerns For Fire Zones 625 and eastern 624...
A dry cold front will pass through the area late this week. Gusty winds and low humidities are expected ahead of this front Thursday afternoon, with several areas reaching critical conditions in Lake County and eastern Klamath County. With the fuels in this area in pre-green up and the ongoing lack of precipitation, gusty winds and low humidities will result in fire weather concerns.
The National Weather Service in Medford has issued a Red Flag Warning, which is in effect from 2 PM to 8 PM PDT Thursday.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
* AFFECTED AREA...Fire weather zones 625 and eastern 624, including Fort Rock, Silver Lake, Summer Lake, Paisley, Adel, Christmas Valley, the higher terrain of Winter Rim, the Warner and Hart mountains, and other exposed terrain.
* WIND...Southwest 15 to 20 mph, with gusts up to 30 mph. Isolated gusts of 40 mph are possible.
* HUMIDITY...8 to 15 percent.
