Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. * WHERE...Western Kenai Peninsula. * WHEN...Until 9 PM AKST this evening. * IMPACTS...Visibilities reduced to one half mile or less due to blowing snow. Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday evening commute. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Additional snow showers and a shift in the wind from north to south is expected this evening. Snow and gusty winds may linger into Saturday for communities along Kachemak Bay.

The hazardous conditions could impact the Friday morning and evening commutes. Very strong winds could cause extensive damage to trees and power lines.
