    The National Weather Service in Denver CO has issued a Red Flag Warning. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 211 and 213. * TIMING...From 1 PM to 7 PM MDT Tuesday. * WINDS...West 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Between 13 to 17 percent. * IMPACTS...Conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread. Avoid outdoor burning and any activity that may produce a spark and start a wildfire.

    • Be sure you are signed up for your local emergency alert system. You can find this information at dhsem.colorado.gov/emergencyalert. Follow all fire restrictions. Avoid activities that can cause sparks and do not park hot vehicles on dry vegetation. One less spark, one less wildfire. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now...or will shortly. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

WHAT...Air Quality Alert for Wildfire Smoke. WHERE...Southeast Wyoming WHEN...11am Monday to 11am Tuesday IMPACTS...Heavy smoke from Pacific Northwest Wildfires HEALTH INFORMATION...The Wyoming Department of Health recommends the elderly, young children, and individuals with respiratory problems avoid excessive physical exertion and minimize outdoor activities during this time. Wildfire smoke is made up of a variety of pollutants, including particulate matter and ozone, which can cause respiratory health effect. Although these people are most susceptible to health impacts, the Department of Health also advises that everyone should avoid prolonged exposure to poor air quality conditions. CURRENT CONDITIONS...The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality, Air Quality Division offers near real-time air quality data for Wyoming's monitoring stations and health effects information to help the public interpret current conditions.
