Areas over inland parts will see maximum temperatures in the high thirties to around forty and overnight minimum temperatures in the mid twenties. Areas closer to the coast will see maximum temperatures in the low to high thirties with overnight minimum temperatures in the low to mid twenties. Severe heatwave conditions building and persisting into at least the weekend at this stage. Locations likely to be impacted include Aurukun, Kowanyama, Pormpuraaw and Weipa.
