    ...RED FLAG WARNING FOR LIGHTNING... .An upper trough from the Pacific is forecast to move into southeast Oregon beginning Friday afternoon, then across southwest Idaho Friday night into Saturday. The trough will bring a 30 to 60 percent chance of thunderstorms with potential for new fire starts due to lightning. Initial storms may be dry with strong gusty outflow winds, especially in southeast Oregon, but storms overnight through Saturday will gradually trend wetter as they spread into Idaho. The National Weather Service in Boise has issued a Red Flag Warning for lightning, which is in effect from 6 PM Friday to noon MDT Saturday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * AFFECTED AREA...In Idaho, Fire Weather Zones 423 Owyhee Mountains and 426 Southern Highlands. * TIMING...From 6 PM Friday to noon MDT Saturday. * THUNDERSTORMS...Scattered coverage with abundant lightning. * OUTFLOW WINDS...Gusty erratic winds up to 45 mph. * IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

The National Weather Service in Pocatello has issued a Fire Weather Watch for scattered thunderstorms, which is in effect from Saturday morning through Saturday evening. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zone 410 Upper Snake River Valley/Idaho Falls BLM, Fire Weather Zone 413 Caribou Range/Caribou NF, Fire Weather Zone 422 Sawtooth Range/Northern Sawtooth NF, Fire Weather Zone 427 Goose Creek and Raft River Valley/Southern Sawtooth NF/Twin Falls BLM south of the Snake River, Fire Weather Zone 475 East Salmon River Mountains/Salmon NF and Fire Weather Zone 476 Lemhi and Lost River Range/Challis NF. * IMPACTS...Critical fire weather conditions are expected Saturday.
