    To: 2026/04/22, 03:00

...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT WEDNESDAY FROM 11 AM UNTIL 9 PM MDT FOR PORTIONS OF NORTHERN AND EASTERN NEW MEXICO DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY... ...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT WEDNESDAY FROM 11 AM UNTIL 9 PM MDT FOR MUCH OF CENTRAL AND WESTERN NEW MEXICO AND THE EAST CENTRAL PLAINS DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY... ...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT THURSDAY FROM 8 AM UNTIL 8 PM MDT FOR MUCH OF EASTERN NEW MEXICO DUE TO STRONG WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY... .Dry and windy conditions will occur across much of central and northern New Mexico on Wednesday afternoon. The lowest humidities will focus over central and northeastern New Mexico while the strongest winds are expected in northern New Mexico. While fuel moisture remains near normal in portions of western and central New Mexico, the fast drying of fine fuels may support rapid fire spread. Wind speeds were the limiting factor that contributed to only upgrading a portion of the Red Flag Warning on Wednesday. Windy and dry conditions will continue on Thursday, with critical conditions most likely across eastern New Mexico. * AREA AND TIMING...Northwest Plateau (Zone 101), West Central Mountains (Zone 105), Middle Rio Grande Valley (Zone 106), North Central Mountains (Zone 120), Sangre de Cristo Mountains (Zone 122), and Sandia and Manzano Mountains (Zone 124) for Wednesday from 11 AM until 9 PM MDT. * 20 FOOT WINDS...Southwest to west winds 20 to 25 mph, with gusts up to 40 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Minimum values of 6 to 11 percent with the lowest values in the Middle Rio Grande Valley. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
